BIOGRAPHY

Mischa Chun-Wai Ngan is a solo and chamber pianist, a recording artist and a distinguished teacher. He performed in various locations such as the United States, Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He enjoys playing wide range of repertoire, from Baroque to late Romantic era. Critics have praised Ngan's playing as “sensitive, dramatic... full of expression, with emotional depth and understanding.”
Ngan has performed in prestigious international music festivals including Sarasota Music Festival in Florida and Festival Orford in Canada. He collaborates with various artists and is a founding member of Ensemble Finesse. His performance was broadcasted on Radio Television Hong Kong.
Born in Hong Kong, Ngan received full scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund in 2003 to pursue his graduate studies with Edward Auer in the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. His important mentors include Edward Auer, Arnaldo Cohen, Evelyne Brancart and Mary Wu. He is also enthusiastic about Early music and music theory. He studied Early music, harpsichord and fortepiano performance with Professor Elisabeth Wright and Eva Legene; and music theory with Professor Robert Hatten.
His musical and knowledgeable teaching establishes him as one of the most sought-after teachers in Hong Kong. He was invited as a guest professor by the Edward Auer Piano Workshop at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2017. He has served as an artist faculty in Parsons Music Academy since 2012 and was appointed as an adjunct lecturer and associate instructor in the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Professor Ngan was frequently invited as a jury member in competitions. His masterclasses and lessons are in great demand. His students received offers from renowned music schools such as the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and are frequent prize-winners in competitions.
Ngan has engaged in numerous recording projects. Apart from solo pieces, he has recorded some chamber music recently, including Brahms' Piano Trio in A minor Op. 114, Clarinet Sonata in F minor Op. 120 No. 1, Cello Sonata in E minor Op. 38, J. S. Bach's Flute Sonatas and Schumann's Three Pieces op. 73.

顏俊瑋先生為獨奏及室樂鋼琴家,曾在美國、加拿大、台灣及香港等地演出,並於美國及香港的鋼琴比賽擔任評委。其學生亦在比賽中屢獲殊榮。早年,顏氏獲得香港賽馬會音樂及舞蹈信託基金之全額獎學金遠赴美國,於美國音樂名校印第安納大學音樂學院 (Indiana University Jacobs School of Music) 師從 Edward Auer 教授(史上第一位美國人在華沙蕭邦國際鋼琴大賽贏得獎項)完成鋼琴演奏碩士學位;其後繼續在其指導下,在該學院修讀音樂博士學位。博士班期間,被大學聘任爲副講師。顏氏曾跟隨 Edward Auer, Arnaldo Cohen, Evelyne Brancart及 Mary Wu等鋼琴名家學習,並參與演奏 Manehem Pressler, Robert Levin, Claude Frank, Marc Durand 等的大師班。他對古樂及音樂理論亦有濃厚興趣,跟隨 Elisabeth Wright及 Eva Legene 教授研習早期音樂、大鍵琴及古鋼琴;並與 Robert Hatten 教授學習音樂理論。顏氏曾參與演出之著名音樂節包括美國佛羅里達州的Sarasota Music Festival 及加拿大的 Festival Orford。他現時正展開唱片錄製工作,並推出了首張專輯 “Mischa Chun-Wai Ngan - Live Recital”。
